GOAL: Review the draft 2.0 documents and provide feedback to build a more complete listing of initiatives.
- Success of Power Day/connecting with young alumni; Maintain the relationship (in addition to giving) with young alumni through mailing, reunions, events—what can we offer them to keep them engaged?
- What is the focus of our community? What types of students do we admit if/when we get selective? How do we better serve first generation students? Intentional plan/strategy to retain our first generation college students; our community by design would support first generation, but we need the support system
- Residential plan needs to take all students types in consideration (cost conscious)—don’t want to price ourselves out of the low SES market
- Connect freshman seminar with the rest of campus/faculty—it seems disconnected and it is difficult for faculty to engage; Dynamic professors in entry level courses is important
- Campus entry needs attention
- Where does entrepreneurship fit on our campus?
- Underutilizing the interdisciplinary programs; Interdisciplinary is important and undersold by admissions; Connect faculty interdisciplinary efforts to admissions
- How do we better connect with community partners?
- Being intentional about community by design is important. How does the city of McPherson fit in our MC community?
- Engaging students to rethink our community is important
