Recommend taking evaluations seriously and talking with Bruce on understanding faculty governance.
  • Not all faculty members will have the entrepreneurial mindset. Maybe department heads should maybe be the most entrepreneurial. Broad definition of entrepreneurship is important.
  • Figuring out load with faculty being busy and how to best integrate all the things they do is important.
  • Appreciate the campus entry priority. Discussed the timing of the campus entry and campus beautification.
  • The reputation is important for McPherson College; building and working on the strategic plan will help improve and see growth. Attracting people here is a good strategy vs. always talking about recruiting and selling—give them a reason to want to be on campus and engaged.
  • Emphasize the senior research project. It helps you get into grad school and jobs. It is something you have that other people don’t. Conferences, etc. Promoting that idea. Students get to have their own ideas and decide what they want to do. Capstone is really important. These things are making a difference and leading to our high placement rates.
  • Get across how unique each department is. How we market from a student perspective is important. Student’s with a “plan” will be the most successful.
